It was coming along fine until this

Got a bad example of this one, one wing warped a bit and for some reason the fuselage attacment points give it a pronounced anhedral. Oh well, wheels up on a stand and a quick scheme, just a knock-off. Get some painting done, leave it on the bench to dry, and one wing root just gives way all on its own:

Time to start masking and trying to fix just that area. Is it too early to start drinking?  :drink:

You have my sympathies. The wings on my Sovietized Mystere IV (Revellobox kit) were an absolute pig to get straight and cracked after painting, as does the de-spined fuselage seam if you so much as give it a hard look.....  :banghead:

Bummer Ratty.  And no, its NEVER too early to drink!   :drink:

It all depends what you consider early, and remember "What If your definition of early is the correct one, for you anyway".

I do sympathies with you, I am having problems with my Boeing F9B-2N (AKA the Special Hobby Sea Hornet NF21).
The detail on the plastic parts is superb, the resin parts are works of art, the PE parts are gorgeous, and the transfer sheet is perfect,...........BUT NOTHING B****Y WELL FITS! :banghead:

So what are you drinking?

And it gets hit by anti-aircraft fire, right in the wing root!  ;D
In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

Especially frustrating when you're building a nice and simple kit and even IT messes up like this.

Will a bead of superglue followed up with a trigger-shot of accelerator do?

Exactly what I did yesterday, except I used plain old water as the accelerator. Seems to be holding.

I would've probably thrown the thing at a wall.  The question isn't when to start... it's when to stop!

So does water work OK as an accelerator?  That's a trick I'm not privy to.

Heard about it on ARC (I think) a couple of weeks ago, the poster was wondering if you could just spit on it in a pinch. Apparently CA glues are accelerated quite well by water, in fact I'm sure I've seen warning labels cautioning about using it with wet hands.
