Okay, this idea is a little bit silly. The delta wing is not good for an embarked plane, besides mono-reactor. But I had a Mirage III wreck abadoned then I decided to make my second creation for " Navalize It!! ".

Some pics of the wreck

And how could it be silly if it incorporates one of the most beautiful aircraft ever to take to the skies?

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Slerski

Ok ok. Maybe it is the greatest idea that Dassault's engineers never had  ;D.

When I read Mirage IIIN, I thought of a nuclear strike variant of our beloved Mirage (sounds like Mirage 2000N)...
... now I am glad to see that I was wrong!

Looking forward for the rest of the build!

(By the way, would it not be more appropriate to call it Mirage IIIM for a navalized version?)

Slerski

I thought about Mirage IIIN (for Naval) but there is a little confusion with the N for the Nuclear variants. But in RW, the nuclear variant was the Mirage IIIE. Mirage IIIM (for Marine, not Morocco or Malta I suppose) is a good appellation too. I have to choose  :banghead: I'll think during the built (or maybe I can ask your opinions).

Well if you think a delta is too difficult for carrier operations, add canards and stroger undercarriage (remember Rafale). On the other hand, N can mean Nuclear strike, from a Navy carrier!
Will die without understanding this world.

Just fit canards, it flies better with those

Maybe pop-out foreplanes in the nose like the Swiss Mirage Milan:

Thanks to all for the "Canard" idea. I love the pics Greg. Mirage with moustaches  ;D

So if a navalised Mirage is having canards, and canard is French for duck, why not name this build the French for 'Sheldrake'?  ;D ;D

The french word is "Tadorne"... Doesn't sound very good. Maybe "Barracuda" (Barracuda) ou "Espadon" (Swordfish)(I found Exocet very nice but a Dassault Exocet carrying Matra Exocet...)
