Figure GB anyone?

It occurs to me that just about the only type of model we've never really had a GB for is the figure...
So, what do people think about it? Whiff any figure - could be alternate uniforms, could be a roman centurian armed with the weapons of a cylon centurian, could be a small vignette of WW2 with Zombies (there are several ranges to cover that from various wargames!)
Whatever you like really.
Daleks included.

Sounds good to me! Would there be a size limit? Figure models can range from 2mm-scale wargaming pieces, up to 1:4 scale statues.
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

I can't see any point restricting scales, especially since we don't really have any figure specialists on here. May as well have it open to anything anyuone feels like entering.

Would Japanese giant robots be in? What about people in suits that you might mistake for giant robots if you didn't know what scale they're supposed to be?

Hey, why not?  I've got some ideas for whiffed figures or dioramas including figure combinations that wouldn't exist in the "real" world.

And maybe this would give the figure builders a little more exposure. Maybe it could also mean people who wouldn't otherwise whif or paint figures an opportunity to dive right in.

It's one I proposed a long while back, it generated some interest, but not huge amounts.  I'm glad someone else has taken up the batton as it's something I've always fancied but never got around to.

I guess anyhting that cuold be classed as a figure should be included, from 1/72 Airfix Deser Rats to 1/1 recreations, if anyone is brave enough!
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

to 1/1 recreations,

That would mean more Radish self-portraits then.
Are you sure you want to encourage that sort of thing?  ;D

I'd definately be in.  I don't know if it would ever get enough votes in a poll to go through, it may have to be one of those done "on the side".

Yup, I'd be in for this one as well.

Can't see why we should not include Gundam and mecha; I mean the painting techniques are basically the same and they are human shaped. Just don't try to enter a Gundam core fighter or pod.

I think it is a great idea, even if it is run as an "Unofficial" GB.  The Figure category is one that is lacking for the Whiffies this year (and may not be on the final list) but something like this can make sure it shows up next year.
