Went into my LHS today to get a nice cheap 1/72 Airfix Skyraider to hack to pieces when I noticed a Revell 1/72 Ju-290A-7 lurking. Before today, I didn't know there was an A-7 to be had! I'd been hankering for an A-5 for some time but always held off, thinking I perfer the A-7's nose.... ah I'll get something else! So you can imagine my suprise and delight when I saw it.

Has anyone else had a similar nice suprise lurking in their LHS?

Also, has anyone else got one of these or will I have the world's 1st WHIF Ju-290A-7?

Those few unusual subjects Revell did (the Ju290, Fw200 Condor, He177 etc) are always tempting me from my LHS shelves. Haven't succumbed yet, but I'm sure it will happen some day...
Some of my models can be found on my Flickr album >>>HERE<<<

Hannants are still listing it as a 'Future Release'.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Both local shops here in Halifax take trades and as a result I tend to rarely buy something new out of the moulds. When I want new I tend towards a mail order guy in Fredericton who has much better pricing and actually really knows plastic models much better.

That being said, I found a couple of Matchbox kits and some old Revell kits and my maturity kicked in and I walked away with only one, the Stranrare by MB. I want to try again and do a complete interior for one of the ones that served briefly on the Atlantic coast during WW2. Now to find drawings...

Was that the one they had on the Revell stand at Telford?  ISTR it had box art, so it can't be far off.

Yep I got one and I led joe over to hannants to get his one as well (breaking the no new kits ruling from his missus)
I always hope for the best.

Seems like my LHS really came through for once!

Thinking of doing mine as a Tragerflotten bird out of Tsingtao, either directing U-boats against Allied shipping at Okinawa or supporting the Allies at Inchon a few years later.

What are you guys planning with yours?
