Ever wondered what the Wedell-Williams XP-34 would have looked like?

Well here's my take on it, using a photo of the "44" as a basis...

I remember back in the '70s, IIRC, Scale Modeler, again, IIRC. had an article where I think it was a 1/32 Williams Bros. bipe racer painted in '30s USAAC or USN markings. I've got a Bearcat & Corsair painted silver in USAAF WWII markings.

A USAF Bearcat? I would love to see this!

Apophenia, you rock! I like your version, and it's more accurate that way! (I didn't have any pics of the Model 45 at hand...) Now wouldn't this make for a great plastic model? I think it would!

Side view of the 45 from the R.S. Hirsch 5-view drawing.
The drawing is on page 449 of Hirsch's two volume Aircraft of Air Racing's Golden Age, 2005 Hirsch.
The section on the W-W 45 also includes ten photos of varying quality.

I have a USAF Bearcat in SEA colors as well as the 'bare metal' USAAF Bearcat. I need to get some pics of several things, so I'll try to take my camera home in the next few days.
