Posted on behalf of The Wooksta -Some of the projects he has on the workbench and should appear at SMW this year

The Wooksta returns with what he's best at - slightly skewed reality.  I've been busy tinkering, and despite some misgivings, I've been persuaded to show of some of what I've been playing with recently.

FR18 1,2 & 3
Three shots of my FR18.  Not quite sure what scheme it's going in yet but probably European theatre with late war/early post war colours and involving PRU Blue.  Home cast fuselage, tailplanes and interior with a Heller F.XVIe wing.

F21 wing
What it says on the tin. An F21 wing that fits the Airfix PRXIX. And no, I'm not casting any for anyone.  They're mine. So there.  Muwahahahaha!

PR21 wing
One of the above but modded to produce a PR21 -what if the PR Development unit at Benson had managed to get one of the F21s and "Cottonise" it?

FR21 Airfix
My F21 fitted to an Airfix PRXIX.  Nice fit, isn't it?  And I've already said no!

FR21 Ventura
Also fitted to the Ventura PRXIX.  The latter is a salvage job.

#5
Seafire F45
This was given to me a while back as a part started.  The Academy Spitfire F.XIVe kit (which frankly is horrid but has some bits worth scavenging) fitted with the Paul Lucas/Scale Aircraft Modelling F21 conversion.  That's about as far as it got but then I remembered Bob had painted the cockpit black (most Spitfire F21s had green cockpits apart from those produced on the same line as the Seafire F45s and both types had the cockpits painted black).  I realised that this would save me building the Aeroteam kit and I could quickly get her done.

The tail was hacked off and a modified FR18 rudder will be fitted, along with an Aeroclub six blade contraprop.  This would have been necessary to counteract the torque on take off, essential for carrier use.  So why the bigger rudder?  The contraprop eliminated the torque but introduced critical trim instability.  The FR18 rudder had larger trim tabs and this cured the problem.

Combat tanks will go under the wings for extended CAP.  Will probably end up aboard HMS Audacious for the blockade of Japan (why invade and waste thousands of lives?  Just starve the buggers out!)  Still unsure of the scheme but I have something in mind.

The rudder also fits the Airfix PRXIX...

Supermarine Victor (1)
Old NOVO Spirfire FXIV fitted with a Frog Attacker wing.  This was primarily a testbed for something else but I'll be finishing it in service markings.

Supermarine Victor (2 & 3)
Two more shots of the Victor.  now the u/c is on and the carb intake.

Supermarine Victor (4)
An underside shot, proving what a mongrel the model is, with bits from everywhere - Novo fuselage, Pegasus Spitful u/c and radiators, home cast carb intake, Academy tailplanes and Airfix tail wheel doors (surprising how useful the spares in the PRXIX kit are!)

There really ought to be a "blowing raspberry" smiley for situations like this!
Seriously, very nice Spits - will they both receive contraprops?

Sauragnmon

Some very interesting Spits that he's got going on, nicely fitted wing, of course, designed specifically to fit the kit and fit it like a glove, so it's got a beautiful fit.

Like the look of the Victor.  Wonder if you could cross kit the AZ Spitful and one of the better Spitfire F14s?
