Loved these toys when I was younger!  Much like GI Joe, the bad guys seem to have the cooler look. Hope you enjoy these, and we need an "Animal Theme GB"

The evil Skull Squadron (they are just misunderstood)

The Good Guys (like flying McDonalds ads )

An armor guy, who builds airplanes almost exclusively, that he converts to space fighters-- all while admiring ship models.

THere was a cartoon as well, right? I seem to remember it...
There are no good kits, bad kits or grail kits, just kitbash fodder.

Radish

The thread title could well...you know.....sorry!

Nice ideas for models though.
Once you've visited the land of the Loonies, a return is never far away.....

Still His (or Her) Majesty, Queen Caroline of the Midlands, Resident Drag Queen

That brings back some memories! I used to have Bandit & Valour Wings meself. Wish I knew what happened to them.

I still have a lil F4D Skyray but I'm not sure if it was Ring Raiders or something else.

Thanks for sharing those pics! Had quite a few of those when i was a kid. I thought Wraither was the coolest, being a ghost and all that. His aircraft was the Galloping Ghost, IIRC, a P-51 Mustang.

Does anybody have the comic were Yuri Kirkov flew Skyraiders in Vietnam? After a dogfight with Wraithers squadron he tells a story how a Loach piloted by Joe Bannon guided him back to base after he got lost over Vietnam. After returning to base he finds out that Joe Bannon crashed and died in his Loach months earlier. All very much like Forsyth's "The Shepherd".

Revell did a couple of 1/144 kits in those markings in the 1990s. Off the top of my head there were Victor Vector's F-19, Yuri Kirkov's F-4, some F-16 with a bird's beak (looks like from Thundercloud's wing) for the good guys and Scorch's Sk-37  Viggen, Chiller's F-104 and Mako's MiG-29.
Cheers,
Moritz

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
