Ok, it's a model, but what I'd like you to tell me is,
1. what model (company)
2. what scale?

Captain Canada

144th scale

Monogram

Toad,
I didn't know Monogram made a model of a PBM? A PBY-5, yes, (back in the late '50's~early '60's) but no, it's not Monogram and not 1/144th.

Ollie

Captain Canada

I didn't think Monogram made that kit either......i was just guessing !

Okay then, 72nd scale, MPM ?

Not MPM Toad.  Hase has one in 1/72.

Geoff_B

Mach-2 Martin Mariner in 1/72, the Hasegawa kit is the Marlin Ollie B)

Captain Canada

Yeah, Mach-2, not MPM.....that's what I was gonna say !

I remember reading a nightmare build review on that one..........

In the '90's, when Revell were bringing out some of their 'old' kits, one that was 'a must' was the USS Pine Island, a seaplane tender. Built at the end of WW2, and was responsible for mapping most of the Antarctic in the late 1940's.

The PBM Mariner is from that model ship, and scaled at 1/426th. In other words, the PBM fits into my open hand.
It had 12 parts and a full set of decals, (almost exact to the 1/110.6sc PBM) that I also have.

Wow, that's too cool, Lyn.

Can you sink it into a wee vat of RTV and make a few copies ?
