The Finished Builds Thread

Does what it says on the tin:- Here be the place to post your finished builds. If you want to include an 'edited' version of your back story that's fine - No you don't need one, just a quick version to 'frame' your build if you have it.

I cannot stop folks posting comments, but I'd respectfully ask for some restraint. Comments are great, but do have the habit of wandering off on various tangents - I'm as guilty as anybody else on this score - If you want to comment on a build, can you do so on WORKBENCH forum, thanks all.

Over to you

Entry #1:

Israeli Aircraft Industries CM-170K Tzukit of Fuerza Aérea Salvadorena, B.A. de Mayaculpa, 2002.

A single-seat attack conversion of the Fouga CM-170 Magister, produced by IAI as a means of selling re-furbished ex IAF aircraft. Bought by El Salvador in the late 1970s and used in that country's civil war until gradually replaced by A-37Bs. The aircraft had two Colt Mk.12 20mm cannon installed in place of the rear seat, uprated hardpoints on a strengthened wing, and an ejector seat and armour for the pilot.

Kit: Airfix 1/72nd Fouga Magister
Gun Blisters: Revellobox 1/72nd Mystere IV rocket pod halves
Gun barrels: Airfix 1/72nd early Skyhawk
Pylons: Airfix 1/72nd BAe Hawk
Paint: Humbrol enamels and Karismacolour pencils
Decals: home made national markings, rest from donor kits
Mods: headrest to make moulded-in seat look like ejector seat, masking tape seat straps, scratchbuilt gunsight, single cockpit and cut down canopy, gun blisters added, tailpipes blanked off, pylons added, rocket pods scratchbuilt from brass tube and Evergreen rod.

Pleased with the squadron of Kawasaki T-4 trainers that they had purchased, the Thai AF decided to modify some of these aircraft to perform CAS and COIN missions to replace the A-37's and OV-10's in their inventory.  The modifications included the equipment and cockpit displays needed to use modern IR and Laser systems for all weather and night missions.  These new AT-4B Geckos proved to be an excellent night CAS and attack platform. The example shown here is fitted with an IR imaging pod, IR Maverick missiles and high drag "dumb" bombs.

Ed,

That paint scheme is just amazing! It's inovative to say the least, and your execution of it is flawless too! Superbly done.
Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit: Mastercraft 1/72nd TS-11 Iskra 100/200
Missiles: unknown 1/72nd source.
Mods: cannon from brass rod and filler, rear seat tank from Evergreen, jetpipe blanked with plasticard, seat straps from masking tape.
