Got any more?  I've never seen a orange and white P-3 Dome before.........

And here's another P-3, this time from Allaince airshow this past fall.  Sorry shot into the sun .  Notice no squadron markings and clean paint.  Musta just come back from refit or something.

Here's one just for you Todd - taken at a very cold and wet Waddington in July 2007

Great stuff, guys. Love the AWACs type, as well as the super-clean Orion.

Nev, I can't wait to see one of those new Nimrods. What a beauty.....

The aircraft there was an NP-3D from the Naval Research Laboratory.  I dug this up from globalsecurity.org:

Quote153442 - Researcher 442 is a heavyweight P-3B is configured with the E-2C rotating antenna (rotodome), a Hawkeye 2000 Airborne Early Warning (AEW) system and an Airborne Engagement Capability (CEC) suite to support the Navy's future AEW/CEC programs. In addition to the very distinctive rotodome, another distinguishing aircraft exterior feature is the CEC End Fire Array (EFA) antenna. This 54-inch antenna with the associated fairing presents a noticeable bulge below the entrance hatch located on the aft aircraft belly. In addition to the AEW/CEC installation, there are floor and ceiling rails installed to accommodate 6 additional operator/equipment consoles in the aft crew compartment, a free-fall sonobuoy chute, and space for mounting of up to 700 lbs. of equipment in the forward equipment area. There is external wing wiring installed, including fiber optics, to support 6 external electronic pods. The nose radome area has been fitted for a modified IRDS (Infrared Radiation Detection System) turret that can be lowered and raised to support Electro-Optic projects.

I know I took a few more of that bird.  I'll go through the "archives" and see if I can find them.  I didn't upload half as many photos from that show, because the Photobucket uploader was cranky and my internet connection was also.

Patrol and suveilance stuff huh? Yeah, I can play along:

Here's the NATO E-3 Sentry in special markings as seen in Brno in 2007:

And again, in Ostrava in 2009:

NATO brought a less flamboyant Sentry to Brno in 2008:

The RAF Sentry as seen in Ostrava in 2006:

And again at Ostrava in 2008:

Also seen at Ostrava in 2009 was this Danish Aerospatiale Fennec, which the pilots told me has surveilance in it's mission profiles:

There is also this camera rigged Viggen preserved at Prague's Kbely museum:

Meanwhile, in the eastern end of the Czech Republic, you can find this suveilance and mapping modified Avia 14 (Czech built Illyushin Il-14) preserved at the small but quite nice air museum in Kunovice:

True, but the camera is worse than the one fitted in my mobile phone. They tried using it in Afganistan for spotting terrorists planting IEDs, but they were never able to make out anything, even from 100 meters.
