After a false start or two (I lost the radar fairing and ended up redoing it in balsa), I'm almost ready to paint this.

Now to find a 1:144 Global Hawk to go with it  :banghead:

Presenting for your viewing pleasure, what NATO should have bought instead of boring Global Hawks:

Must, then, my projects bend to the iron yoke of a mechanical system? Is my soaring spirit to be chained down to the snail's pace of matter?

Cool! Looks natural :wub: Gonna do another airliner-to-warplane soon? :wub:

Pardon my ignorance, but what is the meaning of AGS?  I have expected to find a gun-toting Airbus here.  It looks nifty toting that surveillance radar, but it wasn't what I was expecting.

AGS = Alliance Ground Surveillance

Hobbes

Yep. It was a plan to provide NATO with its own ground surveillance platform similar to JSTARS. The A321 component has been cancelled, and NATO will make do with Global Hawks instead.

I don't know how soon, but I do have plans for more Airbus military platforms (MPA and tanker at least, maybe an AEW and an ELINT plane as well).

Nice job, Hobbes ! I had no idea of that NATP project, but i do have to agree with your sentiment. I think it would look even cooler if you did the nose black like the poster.

Has a certain air of class and sophistication about it.  Airliner-turned-warplane: very nice change of pace.   :thumbsup:
Styrene in my blood and an impressive void in my cranium.

GTX

Cool!  You should show it to some of the EADS people.
