Chaps,

I'm building something REAL (shock horror!!! :banghead: :banghead:)...an RAF Boston IV or V.
I have the 1/48th kit, but I need any marking details, colours, etc., for a 13 Sqn aircraft.
I know there's some chappies here who MIGHT know?
Cheers,

Terry

What is this 'Real' of which you speak??
So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Hope you've got lots of reference pics, I can't find any 13 Squadron Bostons on-line. One of our local shops usually has a load of RAF lettering decals, if you get really stuck let me know and I'll have a look.

The sorting of decals isn't a problem, it's just the tying up of details.
I've read that the Bostons of "B" Flight had a red/yellow pennant outlined white on the fin above the fin flash, yellow prop hubs and red/yellow checked wheel hubs.
But serials, codes are a problem.
If in doubt, I suppose I'll take my usual "leap of faith"....with Penguin nose art?

There is a view of a profile on Wings Pallette, but as to accuracy, who knows?

Rad, found a diecast model with a couple of photos of a 13 Sqn aircraft, with a red/yellow pennant.  It's named 'Jacqueline Anne' with stork noseart.  Not a Penguin I'm afraid, but would still stand out!  It's in standard USAAF camo of olive drab over grey.

The MPM 1/72 Boston has decals for a 13 Sqn aircraft, seems to be A Flt with the red pennant, in USAAF colours again.   I've found two in box reviews, one in English, the second is from IPMS Deutschland & has a larger pic of the instructions which shows the markings of the 13 Sqn quite clearly, although you could always get someone with the kit to scan it for you.

There's a couple on rafweb, but they are just basic profiles in desert colours with no markings other than the roundels.

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.
