Just a quick shot of what i've been working on whilst the 2nd 583 dries. I had the idea at the Nationals and searched high and low for an Su-7,Su-9 or Su-11. This is the model so far as i still need to prime it and paint it, but as its 90% antiflash white that should be prettey simple to do.

And yes it's yet another project from the British Secret Projects - Fighters by Tony Buttler  :D  :D  :D  :D

Cheers

Nice project Thor!!  So, you are now the master scratchbuilder!!  How long before all of Tony's book is done?   :o  :o  :o

Funky!  B)
Are those control surfaces big enough?
Tell us more about the aircraft when you post more photos as it gets closer to completion.

In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

Hi JoeP

Those tail surfaces are actyually to scale !!!!, we seemed to go through a phase in the 50's and 60's with doing smaller tail and fins than we should have, then go completely the other way with the Tornado, all fin and not as much fuselage !!!!.

I'll try and get some undercoat on it over the weekend and cover up that blue plastic !!!. Just trying to show how simple some scratch builds can be when you put your mind to it.

has a very soviet look to it.

Can't wait to see the finished product.

Reviewing old threads. Any chance to see this nice project finished?
Will die without understanding this world.

Should be on some SIG photos from SMW over the years, the Model is with TSR2Joe for his Research & Development SIG display, along with teh Hawker 1134.

Martin should be able to point you in the right direction for photos

Something to do with the angle of the cockpit and the glorious soviet spinal bulge on the pic above makes it look banana shaped...
Yet another glorious triumph for british tropical fruit shaped aviation!
There are no good kits, bad kits or grail kits, just kitbash fodder.

Love this sort of stuff

Keep it coming along

Is that an Avro Aston in the background?!?!  Maybe not - engines are in wing roots - is it a modified Avro Jetliner (nose modified)?Inspires me to press on with a Lufthansa whif I am doing.

...the pilot's forward vision would be terribly restrictive, I **LOVE** the X-3 nose on the plane!!

My mind is like a compost heap: both "fertile" and "rotten"!

Looking forward to seeing this one progress.  The Su-9 that gave up its fin, missiles and transfers for my Sovietise It! GB entry is due to be anglicised at some point and will look not unlike a 'production' 553.   ;D ;D

It's the Jetliner -- check the forward wing-root strake.

And speaking of Avro Canada ... did that twin-fin canard start out life as a CF-105? And what has it since become out there in Buttlerland?
