My Stash Just Grew Again / Re: My stash just grew again (2017)
« Last post by Rheged on Today at 11:03:09 am »
Went to the hobby store today to browse around and wasn't expecting to buy anything due to being low on money. But what do I find on the shelf that caught my eye?  :o  I couldn't help it. I NEEDED IT! I've been trying desperately to get my hands on a 1/144 scale MiG-17 for so long. Now I can add it to my collection of other 1/144 scale aircraft kits for a special Area 51/Groom Lake display to eventually be built sometime in the future.
Sad thing is, now I just shorted myself on grocery money. :(

Several thoughts  here:
A) I'm looking forward to the Area 51 diorama, whenever it happens.
B)You have taken the advice of the late great Oscar Wilde " The only sensible thing to do with temptation is to give way to it"
C) Grocery deficit?  Unless you are seriously underweight, the medical conspiracyprofession reckon that you can survive on 1000 calorie a day for some time.
D) The  flow chart is a work of genius!!

Oooooh.... yeah, that is a good idea. I have some here in fact. That's what I'll do next time!!!  Thanks! Saved me an hour, easily!

I think the next one will be a Yak 58 (I think it was ) North Korean night fighter. Entire thing is black. Could be done, likely, in one coat, dries fast itself, then the floor polish, then good to go.

Only problem is it is an Amodel kit and I've heard hear and there that sometimes they don't go together too well....      One great thing about this Mustang is that Airfix made a damn fine mold (engineering wise anyway) and it went together great.

Aircraft / Re: Canuck Redux - Revisiting Canada's Aviation History
« Last post by Rheged on Today at 10:41:56 am »
The reality of Canada's shared commitment to North American air defense (and I am deliberately eliminating a Canadian-developed solution) means at least one of them will have to be a U.S. aircraft, just not one in Boeing's lineage. But does it? I thought I knew what I wanted to do, but now my mind is wandering in other directions...oh the possibilities!

Go on, go for a Canuck solution; you know you really want to!!  How about a Canadian "Bowman" interceptor unleashing "arrow" air to air missiles.

Commiserations on your cold, Chris. Colds can be a lot more enervating that many people expect.  I may possibly be able to contribute a backstory or tthree for someone else to use...and maybe even  make a model.....assuming that radio/chemotherapy goes well.
