With the scrapping of HMS Eagle and Ark Royal, and the abandonment of the CVA replacement, the Treasury allowed the purchase of two ex-USN Kittyhawk carriers, which were outfitted with British systems.
To fill these much larger carriers, extra aircraft were also purchased form the US, including Tomcats, Vikings and Hawkeyes.
By the 1980's a replacement for the Buccaneer was needed, and it was decided to purchase the new F/A-18 as a multirole aircraft.

Kit is the 1/48 Hobbyboss F/A-18, in 899 Sqn markings, armed with Sea Eagles from the Kinetic Harrier kits.

Oh my!

That really suits the Hornet.  And beautifully done.

It looks, not wrong (because here nothing is wrong) but, well, different.
Very good.
Well done.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.
