Far Resin GR.4 Conversion set for Airfix 1/48 TSR.2
« on: January 06, 2019, 04:42:21 am »
Do you have a 1/48 scale Airfix TSR.2 kit in your stash and been inspired by this picture?

Return to the Future by Ronald Wong

Well, maybe I can help. This has been 3 years in the making. Here is my 1/48 scale TSR.2 GR.4 conversion set. Set includes two choices of nose cones, chin pod, air-to-air refueling probe, new upper wing panel, new set of wheels, new set of weapon pylons(four under wing pylon, two missile rails and two belly pylons), new afterburner nozzles, targeting pod and new set of flight control (horizon stabilizer, leading edge slats, larger trailing edge flaps along with Recontoured tail planes)

Also have RAF style jammer and chaff/flare pod set.

There are also slipper tanks set. You get two tanks per set.

The weapons pylons set is also available separately. Set includes four under wing pylons, two missile rails and two belly pylons.

Far Resin is a one-man operation. Went I run out of sets, it will take some time to re-cast new sets. Please be patient.

Splendid work there Steven.

All you need to do now is pantograph them all down to 1/72.............  ;D ;) <_<

Thanks Guys
All my parts are done by hand. Not done in some 3-D program where one can scale and go. For me to reduce down to 1/72 would take another 3-4 years, which I'm going to do. Plus it is not my scale I choose to work in. So, all you 1/72 guys and girls need to find yourself a 1/48 TSR.2 and get on board!  ;D

Thanks again,
Steven

This'll sound very JMN-ish, but the 1/48 TSR2 is quite a bit more inaccurate than the 1/72 version, primarily in the forward fuselage. In the 1/48 model it tapers steadily from the intakes to the nose, whereas the real thing, and the 1/72 model, is parallel until just aft of the cockpit and then it starts to taper.

Quite how Airfix got that wrong I've no idea, especially when the master for 1/72 kit was done in 1/48 and then scaled down!  :banghead:

No need for the afterburner cans - the last ten-fifteen feet of the airframe from the trailing edge of the wing to the exhausts themselves are a full afterburning tube.
