From Facebook

1 x 1/600 Heller Charles De Gaule aircraft carrier

Gondor

Found out today that this kit is not by Heller but by Kitech. My excuse for posting the wrong information was that I simply put down what the seller had advertised it as. Still quite happy with the purchase  ;D

Gondor

It's actually a Chinese pantographed version of the Heller 1/400 kit to 1/600 with a one piece hull for motorization. Its not actually that bad a kit, I built a couple of them, including one for Canadarama on here many many years ago

Received the R/C propellers I ordered after Flyer's telling me where some could be found, so now I have to decide which to use and how best to cut them down a bit; but at least I'm not fiddling around with separate blades!

A couple of curved magazines for Nerf guns. They look a whole lot better than the straight ones that come with the toys.

And a 1/35 resin Tank crew Girl sitting with a guitar. Not sure where she'll end up, but she may well become a camping/hippy type in the long run.

Ordered the Very Fire 1/350 scale USS Montana battleship kit from Freetime Hobbies earlier on Monday, and recieved it yesterday. Only about $175 total. Probably won't get to build it till later this year in the Fall. Right now, I've got lots of other projects that need finishing.

Actually, it was $159 + $15 shipping. The detail of the kit is quite remarkable considering this is a what if never existed ship. Though after careful examination of some sprues, Very Fire did screw some stuff up. For example, there is no clear canopy piece for the two floatplanes. All you get to "form" a canopy for the planes is two photoetch "birdcage" pieces that you bend to form into a canopy shape. Then if you actually want windows in that canopy birdcage frame, a person would have to add a very tiny drop of Micro Krystal Kleer in the photoetch framework to simulate a window.  :banghead:
Screw the kit floatplanes. I'm going to look for better aftermarket planes instead.

Only two kits at Southern Expo yesterday

Airfix 1/48 Hunter. My second one and whilst the first will be out of the box, or maybe with aftermarket transfers, this will be a what if ? Was talking with Mike M yesterday and we discussed the possibility of a 20th anniversary of the Battle of El Alamein commemorative scheme. So get some suitable Hurricane 1/48 transfers and then Mid Stone/Dark Earth/Azure Blue  ;D

Airfix 1/72 Typhoon (the proper one by Hawker  ;)) Yes I know I've built 2 of these and at least 6 of the Academy ones but it's one of my favourite aircraft and it's a lovely kit. This is the latest boxing with the rather nice immediate post War 245  Sqd markings. So real world.

Also various bits and bobs, paint, tools etc

Will it have twin 40 mm cannon pods under the wings?  ;D ;)
Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

From a sale at Squadron:

Eduard Weekend Edition MiG 21MF with Slovenian markings...it's a very attractive scheme out of the box, so I may add it to the self as is for a little variety.  Or...I might recreate the ETPS MiG 21 I did in 1/72 for the OWGB many moons ago...

So I got that going for me...which is nice....

Awaiting from Freightdog:
2 x Avro Lincoln wheels

Need these to complete a pair of Lancasters later in the year.  I need more but I also need some Aeroclub props too and they're like rocking horse dung.

And ebay informs me I've just won a Contrail Vickers Warwick.  Which is nice.

All I bought at Southern Expo was 4 worth of raffle tickets. And I won, twice!  ;D

1/48 Red Arrows 50th anniversary gift set with Gnat and Hawk from the 2014 season. Think I might sell this.

1/64  :o Revell North American X-15. Might do this for the current group build, possibly with a Zell launcher.

Managed to pick up a couple of kits I bought from Weaver back in October

2 x 1/72  Airfix PR Mk XiX Spitfires

Admitidly the kits were transported north by TSRJoe so its not supprising that it took so long to get hold of them after he picked them up from Weaver at Telford.
