Flight from February 1960 discusses the marvellously-named Donner Scientific Co Jerkmeter

Sometimes I wish I had one of those to lend to my lady-friends...

But was that in 'Roger Bacon's' Straight and Level column? In which case it needs to be taken with a LARGE pinch od salt.  ;D
Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

 ;D Amazingly not though!

https://www.flightglobal.com/FlightPDFArchive/1960/1960%20-%200193.PDF

I used to buy Flight on the way to school on a Thursday morning and chuckle at Uncle Roger during registration.  And I think it was Fridays on which Scale Aircraft Modelling arrived by post and I'd turn to Tailpiece straight away.

Those two codgers were responsible for the shaping of my teenage 'humour'.

The one thing I remember from "Uncle Roger's" column was this definition :

"An inadvertent airframe ground interfacing with associated structural disoptimisation"  =  Crash

Just what is this LIST ?
I have been very good so it can not be that. ( You are free to use your own definition of GOOD, but I will choose mine!)

The second of those 'codgers', the Venerable Mike McEvoy, is one of us, Whiffers that is, to this day I'm pleased to say.

I wish he'd have carried on with Tailpiece, but his web site, Grumpy Old Modeller, is well worth keeping in touch with.

<voice style="brian_blessed">MIKE'S ALIVE?!</voice>

I am very pleased to hear that, that brightened my morning.

Through his writing he was also responsible for introducing me to the world of Julian & Sandy, which was an eye-opener...
