Finally.....

A build I've been wanting to do for ages (and took far too long to complete).  No specific reason why, just one of things that I needed to get out of my system:







Yes it's the ancient Airfix Comet, OOB.  Resisted the temptation to detail the cockpit, followed the path Wooksta and others take with a 'solid' canopy.

Markings are a mixture of kit (wing registrations, Union Jacks), stock Modeldecal (fuselage registrations) and some very nice 'BEA' logos courtesy of Mr Spackman.

Will we be getting the BOAC version later?  ;D

That will need slipper tanks on the wings of course......  ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

No.  BEA flew dH.106 Comets so it's just a play on names.

Yes they do, looks like that bird "marked her territory" quite a bit with all those stains.  And that photo really makes me appreciate how much flap she could deploy.
