**** Please note these will be Project Cancelled SIG so must be the real projects to complement the book *****

(Sorry for the official bit, but have to channel the creativity before some get carried away exploring their own concept)

Anyway, its a great idea Paul, and you can count me in with a standard Air to Air P1121 and the Naval Two Seater.

I might contemplate the 1125 or 1129 as have done them previously, but might be fun seeing where new drawings and possibly better selection of donor kits might help.

Well, you can bring the existing P.1125 and P.1129 along.

The square intake P.1129 might be worth a go at.

I've got a vacuform one in the stash too, I can't remember if it's the Maintrack or the Whirlybird boxing/packaging though

Should be easy to tell as the Whirlybirds kit has some resin and some white metal parts in it.

IIRC the Maintrack one has white metal landing gear too, but it pre-dates resin stuff by some years.

Yeah, I seem to remember it has white metal parts, but not resin.  Now I'll have to go find it 'cause I'm curious ---  :banghead:

A poll here on what P.1121 related products might be of interest.

Yeap the Maintrack Project-X P1121 was a vacform with White metal detail parts, Whirlybird re-issued the kit by cutting up the A4 sheet to allow it to go into a box, they created a Resin Cockpit tub, intake and main gear bay to improve the detail and act as better bulkheads.
The S&M resin kit is basically a resin copy of the Whirlybird kit as you can tell by the softer detail, the identical parts breakdown and the same defect in the tail stub in that its more on one side than the other. The S&M kit costs more because of the injection moulded resin although I think they should have real invested the time and effort in creating new masters to create a better kit for the price.

I don't think either have survived, the 1129 was a resin copy of the original, and broke up after the box it was dropped accidentally. Not sure on the P1125, it may be in storage or may be in Coventry, although that might be Martin's resin clone.

Opens up the way for others to try them, after all we have better drawings now than upsized images from BSP:Bombers

There is certainly enough material to make a better stab at a resin P.1121. Prototype is very well documented. The Production version must inevitably have some elements of speculation as it was not under construction.

So - my long awaited book on the Hawker P.1121 is nearing completion. Hoorah. :o

So when will the book be available as obviously it would be a great help in building models?

Geoff will have access to the materiel to be published in advance. Anyone else wanting to build something specific can get drawings / photos relevant to that specific variant.

The idea was to launch the book at Telford 2015, with a selection of P.1121 family designs on show for inspiration.

I will have to double check, But I may still have a resin P1129 clone stashed away. possibly along with an 1125 as well.
I always hope for the best.

Where, or what, were they cloned from? I didn't know anyone had done those two, they certainly look very attractive.

If I manage to gird my loins enough I might have a go at that, MIGHT being the operative word.

Martin, I think you may have the moulds.  Sure I passed them to you a while back.
