ProjectTech VC10 book

My copy arrived this morning and I've given it a quick skim, I'll give it a full read as soon as I finish Black Lung Captain (a nice steampunk romp with a great cover).
One question arises: on page 23 there's a "modular" VC10 shown with a large number of (air to air?) missiles that look like the offspring of an anorexic GBU-15(CWW) and an R-27 Alamo, most definitely not a CF.299 which is shown in Adrian Mann's artwork on page 20.
Anyone got any ideas as to what it is?
