Yup, sorted

Yep sorted, but it's a shame I'd set up links to all my photos on here BEFORE I created new folders and moved my photos into them  :banghead:

That IS a nice looking MiG. I'll have to get my RAF MiG out and dusted off for the camera....

And for those of you with the time to spare (waste!) or need a cure for insomnia ....here's the half-baked back-story

THe RAF doesn't operate MiG's, and how No.11 squadron obtained a MiG-21 PF (Fishbed-D) is shrouded in mystery. One theory is that whilst stationed in Germany an RAF officer of Polish descent was contacted by his Polish cousin on the other side of the Iron Curtain. Discussions ensued and one dark moonless night...a MiG that was 'there'...was now 'here'

Covertly operated by the RAE (hence the grey and red scheme) the MiG was flown many hours to divulge it's secrets and also served in some very 'hush-hush' DACT. The 11 squadron markings were both to honour it's 'captors' and provide a basic cover story to the un-informed observer.

And why 'Max' , well if you ever cornered an 11 squadron pilot down the pub, and asked him what had really happened; he'd wink conspiratorally  ;), sit you down and say 'I wanna tell you a story'  ;) ;D

(And you've probably got to be British and of a certain age to get that reference!)
