Or, as I suggested to Airfix a while back, Ferrets. Two in a box, 1 x common sprue for each hull and running gear, 1x 'weapons' sprue with enough turrets to build the common options: MG turret, command 'box', Vigilant ATGW turret. Throw in the Swingfire turret if there'sd room.

1/72 or 76: Pig, Fox, Ferret, Stalwart; I'd like to see them all in plastic at reasonable prices (whatever that means these days?!)
It seems there's a resurgence in small scale Cold War armour, hope it continues.

One of the photographers at the newspaper I used to work at would be pleased! When I mentioned I build models he said he'd always wanted a Pig as he served in Northern Ireland in the 90s, and he was never able to find a kit. He got me looking into the type, and the Troubles as a whole.

Very good news!
I find it very hard to believe Academy would make a mistake like that he said sarcastically...

I'm not sure about the UK, but I believe small-city press photographers here don't really earn Accurate Armour kit-level money!

You think that's expensive?

S&M had the first two of their 1/144 scale Bristol Brabazon kits on show at the Shuttleworth Show today. It's HUGE, but then you'd expect it to be! The resin is very clean and detailed, most impressive.

It comes with a BOAC decal sheet too, which looks really good, but the whole shebang would set you back around 80!  :o
Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards

While looking for the Brabazon I noticed S&M have done a Vickers V.1000 (which I was considering scratchbuilding). It's OOP at the moment though.

Does anyone have this kit? Is it reasonably accurate?

I've never seen the V1000 kit in the plastic as yet, I'm not sure if they've reached the market.

I Think Mike McEvoy might have done it when it came out. Might be worth back checking the SIG SMW display shots to have a look

It's been out and I was sorely tempted, but 50 notes for a 144th airliner is a bit steep, especially when I reckon I could scratch a 72nd one for half that.

I'm *almost* tempted by the Welsh Models Avro Tudor, but I've yet to see a price and I think it'll be in the same bracket.  Denzil can go and enjoy the sheep.
