That looks good so far.

Having seen the "quality" of the basic kit parts, and having seen your recent Sentinel scratchbash, I'm wondering if it wouldn't be any harder to just scratchbuild the model! The Lampyridae is all flat surfaces, so sheet plasticard would suffice.

I'm constantly tempted to do the Lampyridae's bigger, unbuilt brother, the DASA TDEFS....

A bit of voodoo with my old uni solid geometry textbooks may be necessary, but being made up of flat surfaces it should be possible to project the necessary shapes as templates onto plasticard....hmmmmm

Anyhoo, I will be watching this build with interest.

Duncan

Actually, that might be a fine candidate for scratch building!

Regards,

Greg

The decals will be revealed when I post the photos of the finished aircraft and its backstory.

Hm, I see I've never posted photos of the finished product. But I did find an adaptation of the first photo in this topic, with the slogan "Life is too short to build a Unicaraft kit" (if I remember correctly, I can't find the modified photo any more).

Whoever posted that would NEVER build a Whiff, would they?

Have you got pics of the finished model Harro?

Not at the moment. I see I have some catching up to do: several projects have gone without photos of the end result. I'll make some photos in a few days.

only a year late, here are the photos of the finished item:

Decals are custom-made, the logo on the nose is of WTD 61, the 'Wehrtechnische Dienststelle 61' (Bundeswehr Technical and Airworthiness Center for Aircraft) which evaluates new aircraft.

For some reason I thought 'Scott Furlong Predator' as soon as I saw the pic.  :o

That does look excellent Harro, and you'd never believe it used to be a Unicraft kit.

It is.  I am strangely drawn to it.

Let's make Victoria great again.

Another ill conceived, poorly thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.
