Why have I not seen this post earlier?  This is sweet!  The RAF pilot's speed jeans look a tad bit baggy though...

It's the modern look, he fits in with all the skater kids!

Saw some of them in Asda, the pilot, the Royal Marine, the RN diver & the infantryman.  Looked nice, but were a bit pricey.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Saw a kid carrying one at Hendon last week. They had what looked like the full range in the shop too.

Just seen this thread and thought I'd add my 2p's worth....I played with action men when I was younger...had the helicopter (mash sorta bell 47??? it was so long ago) and I think a scorpion tank. Loved the little stuff like the medals...remember them on the german uniforms. Place in Caterham (modellers loft?) has a big stock in there along with the Dragon figs. Oh......I played with lego as well.....but I also had sticklebricks!!!  ;D

Have teh pilot. Can't help but think they've dropped the ball with this one. Surely they should have produced them the same scale as Action Man and the BBI and Dragon figures? Detail is not good and some of the figures' uniforms are molded plastic. No interchangebility even within the range.

I'd love to have some decent British Military figures to play with.........er I mean collect but just not good enough.

All this talk of Action Man reminds me of the time when my mate - who always got the latest of whatever - got the Parachuting Action Man, and non of us could throw it high enough to get the parachute to open properly, so he got his dad to do it.  He threw it so high up it tangled round a overhead telephone line.  There it hung for months mocking them - I can't remember how it came down in the end.

When went through a Robin Hood phase - I think it was caused by that animated version - and we came up with crossbows - we made them by nailing a wooden coat hangar onto a piece of wood, attaching knicker elastic across the hangar and a peg at the opposite end of the straight bit as the trigger, our "bolts" were those weeds with the long stems with the purple flowers.  We had an ample supply of these on some rough ground near our houses, and they used to be tall enough for us to build Mazes in them with secret dens in the middle.

Did anyone elses Mum use to knit or sew new outfits for their Action Man???? My Mum used to get a sewing magazine of some kind (Super Stitch rings a bell) & got the idea from there I think.  ;D

My Mum knitted a couple of outfits for my Action Man. IIRC it came from a pattern book just for the toy.

I think they're awesome ! Especially the new Jackal and sniper figure (He has eagle eyes !!)

I even bought a few for my girlfriends kids (Great excuse eh ?)

I quite like how the snow patrol figure is quite realistic in that he doesnt have the correct kit for the theatre in question.. Having to make do with a normal DPM vest ;)

My 7 year old got really into these at the end of last year (Just as they were being discounted!). So we have the snowcat, the 4x4 dune buggy, the Harrier, sorry, VSTOL jet, pilot and the sniper.

Although, as I pointed out to him, my old Action Man would win as he's bigger!!
It's not an effing  jump jet.

No Eagles Eyes though
http://hmarmedforces.com/

Apparently some of them have "Hawk Eyes" which are much the same thing.

I had loads of Action Man stuff as a kid. About half a dozen figures of various generations (oldest had painted hair and rigid hands), loads of weapons and personal gear, the Ferret, the Spartan (ever practical, I decided this was better than the Scorpion because I could throw all the stuff in the back of it quickly to get Mum off my back...), a Jeep and trailer made by some other company andloadsof stuff I can't remember now.

Anyone remember the Action Man novels? They were set in real combat situations and were pretty realistic and gritty, apart from the fact that one of the characters was called "Action Man". The one about Arnhem was (IIRC) a pretty good account of it!

It gave me an opening to explain what a spitfire was to a seven year old... And that makes it all worth it :)
